He is survived by : his mother Barbara Burleigh of Gordon; his wife Joanie Hull of Gordon, NE; his daughter Jessica Metzger (Kaleb); his grandchildren, Kylie and Adlee; his daughters, Nicole Lanum (Justin) of Gretna, NE and Allison Madsen (Mac); his siblings, Debra Kolman (Larry) of Beatrice, NE and Steve Burleigh (Mary) of Colby, KS; his mother-in-law Kelly Hull of Gordon, NE; his brothers-in-law, Mike Hull (Paula) of Kearney, NE and Tim Hull (Carolyn) of Estes Park, CO; and his grandchildren, Kayden Metzger and Karter Madsen. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A memorial has been established for the Grace Lutheran Church, the Gordon and Rushville Volunteer Fire Departments and donations may be sent in care of Chamberlain-Pier Funeral Home, PO Box 366, Gordon, NE 69343.

“Joanie and Family, I was so sad to hear about Rick. I was fortunate to get to work with Rick for 20 years while we worked at Security First Bank together. Rick was one of the best. He was always willing to ask the hard questions and I believe that made everyone, including myself, better bankers. I was able to spend quite a bit of time with Rick over the years and loved when he let loose a little and showed off that great big smile! He will be missed. My condolences. Aaron Bell”
