He is survived by: his wife Jean; his former wife Janet Harris; his sons, Greg (Maureen) of Gordon and Grant of Ft. Collins; his grandsons, Randy Hess (Heather) of Denver, Dan Hess (Charity) of Cedar Rapids, Patrick Alexander (Melissa) of Bridgeport and Gary Alexander (Kyla) of Grand Island; his great grandchildren, Adeline, Macie Hess, Zoe, Avery Alexander, Colton Alexander (April), Jarrett Ehrhardt (Suzanne), Camber Montondo (Joey), Kaley Collier (Riley), Alexis Ehrhardt, Payton and Abel Alexander; his great great grandchildren, Emersyn and Rylie Montondo; his siblings, MaryLynn Barth (Richard) of Arizona, Suzanne Bottorff (Jerry) of Gordon, Wayne of Arizona and Rodney of Gordon; and his uncle Dillon Hess of Norfolk, Nebraska.. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
