He is survived by: his wife Judy Hergenrader; his children, Cynthia Moore of Gothenburg, Christine Haynes of Gothenburg and James Haver (Becky) of Gretna; his grandchildren, Cale Moore, Tylyn Henry (Justin), Stuart Moore, Quinn Haynes, Cody Nelson (Carolyn), James Haver and Brynn Haver; his great grandchildren, Parker Henry, Braxton Henry, Adler Henry and Scottlynn Nelson; his sisters, Marcia (Steve Kirke) of Des Moines, IA and Jan (Gene Betts) of Austin, TX; and his brother-in-law Gerry Hergenrader of San Jose, CA..
Visitation was held on Sunday, September 13th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel (620 10th St, Gothenburg, NE 69138). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church (1915 Ave J, Gothenburg, NE 69138). A graveside service was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Fort McPherson National Cemetery (12004 South Spur 56a, Maxwell, NE 69151).
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Gothenburg Volunteer Fire Department, Central Plains Hospice or the Gothenburg Impact Center.
