He was predeceased by: his parents, Heie Janssen and Elsie Janssen (Miller); his in-laws, Genevieve and Willard Hamilton; his daughter-in-law Vonnie Janssen; his brother Henry Janssen; and his siblings-in-law, Ann Janssen, Dennis Brown, Vernon Wigle and Ronald Hamilton.
He is survived by: his wife Janice Hamilton; his children, David, Elaine Smith (Chad) and Diane Wahlgren (Joe); his grandchildren, Kelsey Hobbs (Shane), Kennedy Trower (Parker), Kaylee Brundage (Braeden), Kendal Stauffer (Coleman), Erin Gaare (Jason), Leah Mellema (Ben), Connor Schwanz (Regan), Hayden Schwanz, Keaton and Sam Smith; and his sisters-in-law, Joy Wigle, Carol Brown and Mary Hamilton Keunzel.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 24th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel (620 10th St, Gothenburg, NE 69138). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 25th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Cornerstone Bible Church (1721 Lake Ave, Gothenburg, NE 69138). A burial will be held on Wednesday, June 25th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Lindberg Cemetery (3 mi W on Hwy 30).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to KJLT Radio, or Cornerstone Bible Church.
