With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Steve Barrett of Gothenburg, Nebraska, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 23, 2025 at the age of 70. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Barrett and Marilyn Barrett (Galyardt); his stepmother Shirley Barrett; his brother-in-law Barry Ross; his nephew Chance Barrett; his parents-in-law, Donna and Bernard Garrelts; and his sisters-in-law, Kathy Garrelts and Kanda Earll.
He is survived by: his wife Karen Barrett; his daughters, Kori Harm (Toby) of Gretna, NE and Holly Barrett (Hallie Casto) of Ogallala, NE; his grandchildren, Addison, Gracie, Charleigh Harm and Mariah Barnum (Clancey); his great grandchild Paisley Barnum; his siblings, Karen Barrett-Ross of Sacramento, CA, Dan Barrett (Linda) of Kimball, NE and Ben Barrett (Patrick) of Lincoln, NE; and his stepbrothers, John Dier (Betty) of Windsor, MO, Jim Dier (Debbie) of Holt, MO, Harper and Indy. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family.
