He was predeceased by: his parents, Don Holmes and Hazelle Holmes. He is survived by: his wife Pauline Fickenscher; his son Jay; his daughter-in-law Suzanne Holmes; his daughter Joni; his son-in-law Noel Jacobsen; his grandchildren, Sarah Jacobsen, Rebecca Jacobsen, Cassie Kinney, Kiel, Brooke Holmes, Kelsey, Brendyn Kaintz and Kyndal Holmes; and his great grandchildren, Jack Kinney, Evan Kinney, Raylin Steward, Rory Holmes, Lena Waldron and Collin Waldron.
A celebration of life was held on Wednesday, June 4th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the American Lutheran Church (1512 Avenue G, Gothenburg, NE 69138).
