She is survived by: her children, Dayna Kirkpatrick of Grand Island, Deidre Smith (Charles) of Fredericksburg, VA, Deanna Van Briesen (Tim) of Lead and Dan Spencer (Sarah) of Denver, CO; her grandchildren, Elsa, Eli Spencer, Katherine Smith, Elizabeth Smith, Major Andrew Smith (Ellie), Sarah Van Briesen, Zachary Van Briesen (Tonya) and Spencer Kirkpatrick; her great grandchildren, Hendrix Van Briesen and Oliver Smith; and her brothers, Joe Gatto (Patty) and Vince Carag (Michelle).

In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to Resurrection Catholic Church music ministry.

“Dear Family of Dee, I am a childhood friend of Dee, our families were friends (1936-380. We were in the Philippines during WW II but we reconnected with Dee & family in 1946-47. Left for the Philippines again and I reconnected with Dee in 1958. I left for CA & we eventually lost contact. Dee knew me as Catherine Tipon also Rivera. I am currently Rainwater & live in Salt Lake City. My email is rainwaterc@verizon net. God Bless! So sorry, it is so difficult to lose a parent.”
