He is survived by: his wife Betty Janzen; his son Thomas Backer (Jody) of Grand Island; his grandchildren, Kayla Hasselmann (Dustin) of Grand Island and Nathan Backer of Stilwell, KS; his great grandchildren, Lillian, Ashton, Bentyn and Hudstyn Hasselmann; his sister Evelyn Bonge of Norfolk, NE; and his former wife Betty Backer of Grand Island.
