He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Huismann and Rita Huismann (Heitz); his sisters, Linda Huismann and Donna Anderson; his nephew Chris Brown; his mother-in-law Mona Garrelts; and his brother-in-law Larry Zitek.

He is survived by: his wife Lisa Garrelts; his children, Tyler Huismann (Darcy) of Louisville, CO, Tony Huismann (Samantha) of Lincoln and Madison Grovas (A. J.) of Omaha; his grandchildren, Hannah, Emma and Elijah; his sisters, Pat Anderson (Larry), Marcia Brown and Julie Griess (Mel); his father-in-law Delmar Garrelts; and his sisters-in-law, Brenda Zitek and Beth Bamesberger. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
