He was predeceased by: his parents, Alvin Kula and Jane Kula (Negley); his in-laws, Cecil and Junette Hiatt; his brother Mike Kula; his son-in-law Craver Blakemore; and his sisters-in-law, Susan Hiatt and Karen Hiatt.
He is survived by: his wife Renie Kula of Plattsmouth; his daughters, Lindsay Blakemore of Plattsmouth and Stephanie (Cody Friedrichsen); his sister Samantha Polito; and his grandchildren, Adelyn, Lane, Sutton, Oaklyn, Autumn and Hazen.
