He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Russell C. O'Brien and Alberta Lyman O'Brien; his wife Donna of Grand Island; his children, Michelle Martin (Jeff) of St. Louis, MO, Rusty O'Brien (Vicki) of Louisville, KY, Lori Lynn Strawbridge of St. Louis, MO and Kimberly Gonzalez (Henry) of Las Vegas, NV.; and his siblings, Patricia King (Dennis) of Stevenson Ranch, CA, Margaret Dayton (Lynn) of Orem, UT, George O'Brien (Vicki) of American Fork, UT, Barbara Heideman (Kent) of St. George, UT, Terri Liechty (Michael) of Provo, UT, Cindy Dayton Evans (Craig) of Payson, UT and Carole Ann McNaughton (Kim) of Sewell, NJ.. He was also cherished by 19 grandchildren.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions in place at this time, a small family graveside service will be held at the Grand Island Cemetery.
