He was predeceased by: his parent Edna Wiese; his stepfather Reuben Paulsen; his parents-in-law, John and Rosemary Smith; and his brother-in-law Gerald Smith.
He is survived by: his son Robert Todd; his wife Joan A. Smith; his sons, R. Todd Wiese (Amy) of Grand Island, Steven Wiese (Megan Unvert) of Adams and Scott Wiese (Melissa) of Grand Island; his grandchildren, Whitney Wiese, Mia Wiese, Keiley Wiese, Kaden Wiese, Jase Robert Wiese, Jesse Hindera and Ruby Hindera; his cousins, Marlene, Cal Fuehrer, Sharon Gloe, Alberta Wiese, Pat Moss, Barbara Rockwell, Sondra, Gilbert Mora and Karen Miller; and his siblings-in-law, Michael, Phyliss Smith, James, Gloria Smith, Richard Smith, Roger Smith, Mary Ann, Rick Stepanek, Janet and Rich Savageau. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Resurrection Catholic Church, Central Catholic Elementary School, or Hall County Hero Flight for State Veteran's Cemetery.
