He was predeceased by: his parents, Willard Johnson and Eleanor Johnson (Bratten). He is survived by: his nephew David; his son Chad Johnson (Julie); his grandchildren, Nick and Haley; his son Tyler Johnson (Kerri); his grandchild Jaime Laboi (Justin); his great grandchild August; his grandchildren, Keegan, Riley and Melissa Potts (Jared); his great grandchildren, Eli, Josey and Kenna; his granddaughter Celeste Johnson (Kenny); his great grandchildren, Jordan and Kendall; his daughter Jennifer Tatum (Joe); his grandchildren, Rally, Riggin and Ryeker; his daughter Melissa Conway-Patton (Josh); his grandson Evan; his daughter Celeste Beam (Beau); his grandchildren, Kadance, Teagan and Elijah; his child Shaina Ostmeyer (Chad); his grandchildren, Noah, Harper, Bryleigh and Brooks; and his siblings, Delane Johnson of Palm Beach and Marlene Davidson (Jim) of Houston, Texas. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

A memorial has been established in Larry's memory for later designation by his family.
