He was predeceased by : his parents, Melvin D. Dey and Helen Dey (Walford); his brother Jim; his sister-in-law Linda Dey (Bailey); his parents-in-law, Raymond W. and Ruth E. Junge; and his brothers-in-law, Mark A. Junge and Roger Hillmer.

He is survived by : his wife Marilyn Rystrom (Junge) of Gresham, NE; his children, Kimberly R. Richters (Dey) of Gresham, NE and Mark D. (Tera); his grandchildren, Bailey Richters (Aaron Jensen) of Utica, NE, Garrett Richters (McKenna Gierhan) of Beaver Crossing, NE and Grant Richters (Eliza Timmerman) of Gresham, NE; his great grandchild Cora Gene Jensen of Utica, NE.; his sister-in-law Rosalie Hillmer of York, NE; his brother William; his sister-in-law Jan Sabin (Junge) of Lincoln, NE; his brother John C. O.; and his sister-in-law Carolleen Junge (Rohren) of York, NE.. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Gresham Volunteer Fire and Rescue or the Global Dominion Ministries of Lusaka, Zambia, Africa.
