He was predeceased by: his wife Marie; his parent Agnes Hokens; and his in-laws, Vernon and Elizabeth Jameson. He is survived by: his siblings, Kristin Sorgenfrei and Alan Hokens; his siblings-in-law, Ron Sorgenfrei, Tom Jameson and Joyce Hokens; and his sons, Kent Hokens (Linda) and Dale Hokens (Katherine).
Visitation was held on Sunday, May 17th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Roeder Mortuary - Gretna Chapel (11710 Standing Stone Dr, Gretna, NE 68028). A funeral service will be held on Monday, May 18th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Resurrection Lutheran Church (153 S McKenna Ave, Gretna, NE 68028).
