He was predeceased by: his parents, Lowell Edson Fichter and Marion Lucille Fichter; his sister Coleen Northrup; and his daughter Angela Fichter. He is survived by: his wife Carol; his children, Chris Fichter (Kristie), Jeni Ellick (Nathan) and Jill Brockman (Evan); his grandchildren, Katie (Conner), Julia, Beth (Josh), Jack, Griffin, Arlo and Norah; his nephew Nick Bettis (Kathy); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Terry-Lou and Mariah; his sisters-in-law, Cynthia Bargman (Linda Armantrout), Mary Beth Crawford (Wayne) and Laurie French (Lynn); his nephews, Levi and Spencer; his brothers-in-law, John Northrup and John Bargman (Sheila); his sibling's children, Hannah (Nick) and Meredith (Nate); and his pet Luna.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, August 10th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Ralston Park (7700 Park Dr, Ralston, NE 68127).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Ralston Girls Softball Association (RGSA) in Walt's memory.
