It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gerald Hochstein of Hartington, Nebraska, born in Fordyce, Nebraska, who passed away on February 17, 2023, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was loved and cherished by many people including : his grandsons, Marcus Heithold, Sam Heithold, Ethan Hochstein, Seth Howell, Alex Heithold, Decker Heithold, Grant Howell, Grayden Hochstein, Quinn Hochstein and Grant Sitzman; his parents, Edmund Ludwig and Gertrude Alma Hochstein (Kathol); his wife Joan of Hartington; his children, Pam Howell of Hartington, Frank Hochstein (Andrea) of Hartington, Brad Hochstein (Katie VanBuren) of Hutchinson, KS, Deb Sitzman (Mark) of Scottsbluff, NE and John Hochstein (Rebecca) of Sioux Falls, SD; and his siblings, Norma Sparks of Socorro, Deanna "Toots" Lockman of Norfolk, NE, Richard "Dick" Hochstein and Alice Hochstein. He was also cherished by 14 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorials are to be directed to the Cedar Catholic High School Endowment Fund.
