He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Henry and Berniece Clara Steffen (Miller); his brother Orville Steffen; his son-in-law Bill Dendinger; his grandson Trenten Tanderup; his great grandchildren, Payne Haberer and Landen McNear; and his pet Gus.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Lou Forinash; his daughters, Brenda Hefner (Monty) of Belden, Lisa Dendinger of Hartington, Amy Schutte (Gale) of Lincoln and Tammi Tanderup of Hartington; his grandchildren, Holly Hoeppner (Mike), Tyler Dendinger (Kerrie), Heidi Haberer (Chris), Mark Dendinger (Kirsten), Rachel Schutte, Haley Hefner, Nancee Wemhoff (Alex), Katelynn Broders (Coleman), Erika Bierman (Steven), Nathan Schutte (Sam), Emily Humphrey (Dustin), Travis McNear (Wendy) and Shelbi White (Kris); his brother Bob Steffen (Mary Lou); and his sister-in-law Patty Steffen. He is also survived by 22 great-grandchildren.
