She was predeceased by: her parents, George Bergman and Edith Bergman; her husbands, Delmar Ockinga and Homer Carlson of Sutton; her son Steven L. Ockinga; her brother Rodney Bergman; and her sister-in-law Marilyn Bergman.
She is survived by: her daughter Sharon L. Sara (Ockinga) of Cheyenne, Wyoming; her grandsons, Joseph D. Sara Jr. and Christopher L. Sara; her great grandchildren, Kaysen Sara and Kellen Pratt of Springfield, Georgia.; her nephews, Mark Bergman (Karla) and David Bergman (Kathy); her niece Kristy Price (Mike); and her stepdaughters, Jeanene Heinz of Humboldt and Linda Hietbrink of Des Moines, Iowa. She is also survived by 5 step-grandchildren; 15 step-great-grandchildren.
A graveside service was held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Parkview Cemetery (1246 N Elm Ave, Hastings, NE 68901).
