He was predeceased by: his parents, Florence Shafer and Orville Shafer; and his sisters, Roberta Conklin and Deanne Burr. He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Shafer; his daughter Ashley (Cole Rostvet); and his brothers, Roger Shafer and Rick Shafer.
Memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date.
