He was predeceased by: his parents, Dale Thompson and Alice Thompson; and his wife Valerie Bales. He is survived by: his children, Darren (Ruthi Thompson) of Lincoln, Nebraska and Destiny (Caden Hoffman) of Hastings; his stepdaughter Paula (Jason Bales-Swartz) of Phoenix, Arizona; his siblings, Sandra (Larry Cleveland) of Broomfield and Rick (Cathy Thompson) of Chappell, Nebraska; his grandsons, Owen and Keegan Thompson of Lincoln, NE; Robbie Busking of Hastings. He is also survived by numerous step-granddaughters, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Butler Volland Chapel (1225 N Elm Ave, Hastings, NE 68901).
Memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date.
