He was predeceased by : his parents, Frederick Dunker and Joan Rohr Dunker; his parents-in-law, Edward and Marjorie Langhorst; his sister-in-law Linda Heape; and his aunts and uncles, Gretchen Dunker, Lawrence Rohr (Eugene), Patricia and Willard Rippe.

He is survived by : his sons, John Christopher (Thomas Shaw) of Lincoln and Thomas James (Danielle) of Sutton, Nebraska; his wife Joni of Sutton, Nebraska; his grandsons, Maverick Dean and Memphis Joe of Sutton, Nebraska; his pet Franklin; and his brothers, Jim (Kim) of Geneva, Nebraska and Chris (Julie) of Strang, Nebraska. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, and many friends.

Memorials are suggested to the Grace Lutheran Church, Zion Lutheran Church (Sutton), and the Fillmore County Hospital Foundation.
