It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Virginia R. Buchanan of Hickman, Nebraska, who passed away on March 31, 2026, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Octo Houston and Mary Houston (Austin); her husband Malcolm "Buck" Buchanan; and her sisters, Opal Houston, Margaret Nichols, Orpha Cates and Dixie Davis.

She is survived by: her children, Craig Buchanan (Ronda), Michelle Niederhaus and Leslie Buchanan-Bitenieks (Michael Miller); her grandchildren, Braden Niederhaus, Griffin Niederhaus (Emily), Grant Buchanan and Brock Buchanan; and her great grandchild Judson Niederhaus.

Memorials may be given to the family for future designation.
