He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard J. Christen and Kathleen A. Christen (Condon); his siblings, William "Bill" Christen and Alice Hagedorn (Christen); and his brother-in-law John Popp.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Canner; his daughters, Holly Almazan (Celso) and Wendelin Canner; his grandchildren, Jose Almazan (Janine), Eric Almazan (Paige) and Daneca Almazan; his great grandchildren, Claude and Callie Almazan; and his siblings, Paul Christen (Cindy), Matt Christen (Melba), Mark Christen (Robin), Peggy Popp, Rosemary Hemningsen and Jeanne Gentry (Chris). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, grandnieces & nephews, and great-grand nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 25th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the St. Anselm's Catholic Church (201 W Rolla Ave, Anselmo, NE 68813). A vigil service was held on Friday, September 25th 2026 at 6:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
