It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Dorothy A. Peterson of Holdrege, Nebraska, who passed away on December 19, 2025, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Lewis "Bill" Sturgis and Florence Sturgis (Johnson); her husband Duane Peterson; her son Bob Peterson; her brother Dean Sturgis; and her siblings-in-law, Bonita Sturgis, Loretta Sturgis, Linda Sturgis and Don Peterson.

She is survived by: her daughter Cindy Lambert (Keith) of Sundance, Wyoming; her daughter-in-law Carrie Nelson (Mark) of Holdrege; her grandchildren, Amanda Yonker (Ethan), Jenny Knievel (Chris), Joe Lambert (Alana Hall), Robert Peterson (Rachel) and Brett Peterson (Tina); her brothers, Dale Sturgis of Holdrege, Evert Sturgis of Holdrege and Chuck Sturgis of Holdrege; and her siblings-in-law, Marge Sturgis, Karon Peterson, Ronald Peterson (Marilyn) and Lloyd Peterson (Wilma). She is also survived by nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.

A memorial has been established in Dorothy's honor, and kindly suggested to the family for later designation.
