He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis McDonald and Euella McDonald (Zimmerman); and his sister Mary Jean. He is survived by: his wife Shirley McDonald of Holdrege; his children, Mike McDonald of Jerome, ID, Patrick McDonald of Mesa, AZ, Cathy McDonald of Omaha, Christy Patterson of McCook and Tracey Watson of Scottsdale, AZ; and his siblings, Jim McDonald, Joe McDonald, Joanne Sabol, Jean Smith and Julie Schwartz. He is also survived by six grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren.

Your dad taught me to play the guitar and because of that i later, sang and played the guitar to my little sisters for their entertainment. He was a wonderful man with so much talent and full of life . He never met anyone he never liked. You were blessed with him as your father and mentor. My name, was Cheryl Kay Neville.
