He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Hanson and Elva Hanson (Simpson); and his brothers, Robert and James. He is survived by: his wife Charlene Hilman of Holdrege; his children, Wendy Wagner (Dan) of Holdrege and Jeff Hanson (Corri) of Omaha, Nebraska; his grandchildren, Josh Wagner of Kansas City, Kansas, Whitney Kuss (Ryan) of Holdrege, Nathan Hanson of Omaha and Nick Hanson (Mia) of Omaha; his great grandchildren, Adelina and Estela Wagner; his grandsons, Rhett and Asher Kuss; his sister Patricia Hopkins of Lake Wales; and his sister-in-law Linda Smith of Mason City. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.

A memorial has been established to honor Larry's love for children. Memorials will be given to youth organizations.
