She was predeceased by: her parents, Oscar Johnson and Vendela Johnson; her husband Eugene Brooks; her son Eugene Brooks Jr.; her sister Eileen Johnson Hubbard (Hubert Franklin); her grandson David Brooks; and her nephew Kit Hubbard. She is also survived by several grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and countless friends.
