He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Nelson and Doris Nelson (Packer); his wife Judy Christensen (Christensen); and his son Mike Nelson. He is survived by: his children, Julie Rican (George Loaris) of Fremont, Don Nelson of Fremont, Connie Gibbs of Fremont, Patti Smith of Fremont, Jeff Nelson (Kellie) of Fremont and Bob Nelson of Fremont; his brother Dale (Gina); his grandchildren, Jeremy, Josh Rican, Tricia Medinger (Matt), Ryan Nelson, Matt, Kyle Swanson (Jordyn), Candy Perry, Tyler, Brenden Perry-Nelson and Hannah Parr (Chris); and his great grandchildren, Jacob, Elliott, Lily, Averie, Kylie, Kian, Ryker, Zoey, Willow, Hazel, Claire and Harper.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left for the Nebraska Federation of the Blind or the Dodge County Pioneer Amateur Radio Club.
