We are sad to announce that on June 21, 2023, at the age of 87, Sue A. Blomendahl of Hooper, Nebraska passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Joseph Simmons and Norma Simmons; her husband Glenn Blomendahl; her stepfather Robert Bailey; and her brother David Simmons.

She is survived by : her children, Gayle Gillett of Papillion, Barb Hilgenkamp (Tod) of Solon, Iowa, Glenn Blomendahl (Gay) of Herman and Shari Smith (Todd) of Herman; her grandchildren, Mark Gillett (Samantha) of Misawa, Japan, Bryan, Joseph Gillett of Papillion, Blaine Hilgenkamp of Herman, Hannah Hilgenkamp of Solon, Iowa, Cole Blomendahl (Candace) of Wahoo, Shane Blomendahl (Kara) of Hooper, Luke Blomendahl (Amy) of Hooper, Noah Blomendahl of Herman, Katelyn Smith and Ryan Smith of Herman; her great grandchildren, Mark, Elena, Kai Gillett of Misawa, Japan, Grace Gillett of Alaska, Lauren, Madelyn, Jack, James Blomendahl of Wahoo, Margaret, Lucy, Ruthie Su Blomendahl of Hooper, Barrett and Olive Blomendahl of Hooper; her siblings, Sandra Looschen of Fremont, Joseph Simmons (Debra) of Virginia and Steve Simmons (Sharon) of Fremont; and her siblings-in-law, Anita Childers (Jim) of Eagle, Leon Blomendahl (Ardeth) of Fremont and Herb Blomendahl (Jan) of Hooper.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Redeemer Lutheran Church or Lutheran Family Services.

“Dear Blomendahl Family, We are so sad that you have lost your beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt. She was such a lovely person to visit with. She was always interested in others' lives. We remember Sue's days at Logan View and how she worked so hard to make the library an inviting place to spend time. She wanted kids to check out books and to read and grow their minds.
