He was predeceased by : his parents, Nettie Bernard (Starling) and Jess Bernard Sr.; his parents-in-law, Bus and Alta Dart; and his brothers-in-law, Jerry and Keith Dart.

He is survived by : his wife Joyce Dart; his friends, Grove, Lucille, Burdette Bauerle, Richard, Jeanie Johnson, Glacier National Park, Niagara Falls and Branson; his children, Janet Evans (Rob), Jayden and Ashli Maris; and his grandchildren, David, Sarah Bernard-Stevens, Matt and Shayda Bernard-Stevens.
