Bessie M. (Alberts) Shada Obituary
We announce the death of Bessie M. (Alberts) Shada of Kearney, Nebraska, who passed away on October 20, 2026, at the age of 98. Bessie will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her husband Tony Shada of Kearney; her daughter Suzanne; her parents, Charley Alberts and Hilway Alberts; and her brothers, Alfred, George and Jesse.
She is survived by: her children, Cindy (Tim Burns) of Omaha, NE, David Shada (Jill) of Lincoln, NE, Toni Ann (Scott Jackson) of Kearney, NE, Gary Shada (Deadra) of Foster, NE and Mary (Austin Rivett) of Waterloo, NE; and her sisters-in-law, Rosemary Alberts of Gothenburg, NE and Jacqueline Shada of Lincoln, NE. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 1st 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services (2421 Avenue A, Kearney, NE 68847). A prayer will be held on Sunday, November 1st 2026 at 6:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 2nd 2026 at 10:30 AM at the St. George Orthodox Church (1505 G Ave, Kearney, NE 68847). A burial will be held on Monday, November 2nd 2026 at the Kearney Cemetery (4400 Ave P i, Kearney, NE 68847).
Memorials are suggested to St. George Orthodox Church or Central Nebraska Veterans Home.
