Charles Edward Mefferd Obituary

We are sad to announce that, on January 4, 2026, at the age of 87, Charles Edward Mefferd of Kearney, Nebraska passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Leroy Mefferd, Sr. and Dorothy Idora Mefferd (Dodds); his wife Janice McGinley (Brown); his brother Ralph Jr.; and his stepfather Frank Kaiser.

He is survived by: his children, Kathleen Emry Mefferd, Brett, Chad (Elaine) and Shawna Mefferd Kelty; and his stepchildren, Cyndi McNaught (Tom), Robert (Denise), Rodney (Jolene Keck-McGinley) and Myndi McGinley-Gunnink (Jay). He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
