He was predeceased by: his parents, Augustine Galaviz and Dolores Galaviz (Valenzuela); his daughter Jody Colwell; and his siblings, Pauline Wood and Manuel Galaviz.
He is survived by: his wife Marcelina Galavez of Kearney; his sons, Troy Galavez (Jacque) of Shelton and Ryan Galavez (Jessica) of Utica; his grandchildren, Brooke, Ariel, Logan, Alexandria, Kaleigh, Caleb, Brienna and Devon; and his siblings, Toni Garcia (Raymond), Louisa Garcia (Nestor), Josephina White, Carolyn Smidt (Mike), Rebecca Fitch, Ann Wellman, Ron Galaviz (Sherrie), Rita Linley, Natalie Burns (Mike) and Deborah Mettenbrink. He is also survived by 8 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, extended family.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 19th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the O'Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Homes and Cremations (4115 Avenue N Pl, Kearney, NE 68847).
