He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, Wayne Krause and Phyllis Krause (Jensen); his wife Cindy Nevils of Kearney; his children, Joseph Krause (Jin) of Northville, MI, Rachel Stevens (Brian) of Hutchinson, KS, Beth Krause (Matt Johnson) of Kearney and April Wicklund (Eric) of Lincoln; his grandchildren, Logan, Owen, Amy, Julie, Evelyn, Ian, Alexander and Allison; and his siblings, Wayne Krause (Eileen), Larry Krause (Peggy) and Linda Dillon.

Memorials are suggested to the First Presbyterian Church, Nebraska Game and Parks Commission, American Heart Association or the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF).
