The passing of Genevieve E. Wietjes of Kearney, Nebraska leaves a void in the hearts of many, as we bid farewell to a loving soul who departed on September 15, 2025 at the age of 100. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Bosle and Mable Bosle (Boe); her husband Amos G. Wietjes; her sons, Jerry and Donald; and her siblings, Lyman, Maynard Bosle, Luella Henry, Delores Wietjes and Mariann Koepp.
She is survived by: her children, Brenda Martin (Keith) of Helotes, Rodney Wietjes (Connie) of Liberty, Dennis Wietjes of York and Kristi George (Richard) of Snohomish; and her sister Mavis Reiter. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 19th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services (2421 Avenue A, Kearney, NE 68847). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 20th 2025 at 9:30 AM at the Holy Cross Lutheran Church (3315 11th Ave, Kearney, NE 68845).
In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 759, Kearney or the American Cancer Society.
