Jeffrey Axtell, 45 formerly of Kearney passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2021 in Texas. A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 6, 2021 at O'Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home in Kearney. Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation. Services are entrusted to O'Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral and Cremation Services.
Jeffrey Dean Axtell was born February 2, 1976 in Kearney, Nebraska to Donald Axtell, Sr. and Sandra (Brown) Axtell. He was raised in Kearney and was a 1994 graduate of Kearney High School. Jeffrey worked at Gibbon Pack and for several different construction companies while living in Kearney. He enjoyed going four wheeling, camping, fishing and tubing down the river.
Most of all he loved spending time with his kids and family. He will be remembered for his contagious smile and laugh. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Amanda Axtell of Refugio, TX; children, Kamden and Kalyssa Axtell of Refugio, TX, Tyler Kuehn of Kearney and Rylan Axtell of North Platte; step-children, Kyra and Kaleb Grabast of Brownwood, TX; parents, Sandy (Ronnie) Edson of Kearney and Donald, Sr. (Ginger) Axtell of Odessa; siblings, Angie (BJ Koinzan) Vasquez of Hickman, NE, Donnie Axtell of Shelton, Jon (Melissa Schade) Axtell of Kearney, Jenny Rodriguez of Shelton, Brook DeLong of Iowa and Shelly (John) Krotz of Kearney; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.
