He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. A. J. Johnson and Ida Johnson; and his siblings, Alan, Daniel, David, Anne, Pauline, Linnea, Carol and Miriam.
He is survived by: his wife Jill; his children, Eric Johnson (Lisa) of Grand Forks, ND, Elizabeth Westesen (Dave) of Kearney, Lynn Fleming (Ed) of Omaha and Karen Johnson (JJ Winston) of Shawnee, KS; his siblings-in-law, Maryann Johnson of Rockford, IL and Jack Nyquist of Southport, CT; and his grandchildren, Sarah Haack (Ryan), Laura Pullmann (Aaron), Jacklyn Norman (Brian), Nicole Chaykovsky (Eric), Anna Fleming, Victoria Fleming, Erik Johnson (Cherry), Lindsey Johnson, Jeremy Heinert (Sydney) and Zelda Ramos (Demyx). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
