With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John Douglas Gerber of Kearney, Nebraska, who passed away on September 1, 2025 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John "Jack" W. Gerber and Francis Gerber. He is survived by: his wife Gwendolyn Welch Gerber; his children, Courtney Murdoch (David) and Jason D. Gerber (Sondra); his grandchildren, Austin, Colton, Jaeden and Lavender; his brother Gaylord Gerber; his sibling's children, Emily and Paul; and his great grandchild Haven.
In lieu of flowers, donations will contribute to a special bench that will be placed in the Kearney skate park in honor of John's memory.
