Joseph D. McTygue Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Joseph D. McTygue of Kearney, Nebraska, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 4, 2025 at the age of 60. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, James McTygue and Barbara McTygue (Dickerson); his brother John McTygue; and his son-in-law Billy Hall. He is survived by: his wife Alma McTygue; his children, Steph Behrens (Marshall) of Adams, Sam Tibbetts of Kearney, Joey McTygue of Lincoln and Sarah McTygue of Lincoln; his grandchildren, Max, Cale, Vonn and Iris; and his siblings, Jim McTygue of Omaha, Mark McTygue (Lynda) of Eddyville, Matt McTygue (Melissa) of Eddyville, Mary Schipporeit (Paul) of Sumner and Anne Klingelhoefer (Sid) of Amherst. He is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, great nieces, great nephews, extended family.

Visitation was held on Thursday, May 8th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the O'Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Homes and Cremations (4115 Avenue N Pl, Kearney, NE 68847). A funeral Mass was held on Friday, May 9th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. James Catholic Church (3801 Avenue A, Kearney, NE 68847).

Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation.
