Stanley J. West Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Stanley J. West (Kearney, Nebraska), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 21, 2025 at the age of 73. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the soft embrace of remembrance, we recall the profound impact Stanley had on those he encountered along his journey. Though Stanley may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, his essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Marven West and Opal West (Seba); and his parents-in-law, Bob and Margaret Zecha (Reif). He is survived by: his wife Jane Zecha of Kearney; and his siblings, Jerry West (Charlotte) of Pass Christian, Mississippi, Rhonda Starbuck (Mike) of Oologah, Oklahoma and Jim Zecha (Sandy) of Kearney. He is also survived by nieces and nephews; extended family.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 25th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the O'Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Homes and Cremations (4115 Avenue N Pl, Kearney, NE 68847). A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, November 26th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. James Catholic Church (3801 Avenue A, Kearney, NE 68847). A rosary will be held on Wednesday, November 26th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the O'Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Homes and Cremations (4115 Avenue N Pl, Kearney, NE 68847).
