We bid farewell to Velda Vapenik of Kearney, Nebraska, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on June 5, 2025 at the age of 95. Velda touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Isaac Pegg and Bessie Pegg (Gardner); her husband George Vapenik; her siblings, Jack Pegg (Dorothy) and Margie Olson; and her siblings-in-law, Al Baysinger and Loretta Pegg.
She is survived by: her daughters, Janet Metz (Norman) of Pleasanton, NE and Beverly Siegel (Larry) of Litchfield, NE; her siblings, Don Pegg of Aurora, CO, Donna Baysinger of Brighton, CO and Belva Bamford (Dick) of Grand Junction, CO; and her siblings-in-law, Annabelle Vapenik of Wauneta, NE and Dave Olson of Grand Junction, CO. She is also survived by six grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild.
Memorials are suggested to the Pleasanton Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department.
