We announce the death of Alberta Richter in Lincoln, Nebraska, born in Omaha, Nebraska, who passed away on October 8, 2026, at the age of 92. Alberta will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Mabel Nixon (Martin) and Robert Nixon; her husband Dick Richter; her daughter Diane Powell; and her grandchildren, Adam Barnhill and Jenny Powell.
She is survived by: her daughter Kathy; her son-in-law Gary Prochnow of Pleasant Dale, Nebraska; her grandchildren, Nicole Colson, Justin and Travis Powell; and her stepgrandsons, Ryan Prochnow (Chelsea) and Scott Prochnow. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Seward Cemetery (1700 State Hwy 15, Seward, NE 68434).
Memorial contributions may be made to the Richter family for future designations.
