He was predeceased by: his father Melvin A. Berka; and his siblings, Doug Berka and Karen Lind-Olson. He is survived by: his mother Donna Berka (Larson) of Lincoln; his wife Debra Berka of Lincoln; his stepdaughters, Danielle Varacchi of Atlanta, GA, Diandra Craig of St. Petersburg, FL and Devin Lusk of St. Petersburg, FL; and his siblings, Reg Berka (Angela) of Houston and Diane Mayberger (John) of Crete. He is also survived by his parents, supportive of his brothers and sisters, and was a caring husband to his wife.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 19th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Roper & Sons Midtown Chapel (4300 O St, Lincoln, NE 68510). A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, May 20th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the St. John the Apostle Catholic Church (7601 Vine St, Lincoln, NE 68505). A rosary will be held on Wednesday, May 20th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Association.
