He is survived by: his parents, Jon Sterns and Debra Sterns (Kapperman); his fiancé Jessarae Vannatta; his sisters, Carrie Olsen (Joshua Olsen) and Whitney Schneider (Blake Schneider); his nephews, Isaac Tomhave, Camden Olsen and Holden Olsen; his brother-in-law Turner Vannatta (Audrey Vannatta); David Vannatta, Trudy Newcomer and Ivy Jean.

During the Covid quarantine, out of boredom, Brian decided to take an online course to become an ordained minister.
