He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Straub and Anne Straub (Ullsperger); his brothers, Jerry, Don and Bernie; his daughter-in-law Linda Herzog; his granddaughter-in-law Sarah Matthews; and his brothers, Robert (Rose Lempka) and Bernard (Barb Lempka).
He is survived by: his wife Donitta; his children, Debbie Knobloch (Kevin), Steve Straub, Doug Straub (Peggy), Cindy Rudolph (Dan), Rick Straub (Carolyn), Janelle Kiefel (Fabian) and Mike Straub (Jolene); and his sister-in-law Shirley Straub. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-granddaughter.
Visitation was held on Friday, August 28th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Butherus, Maser & Love Funeral Home (4040 A St, Lincoln, NE 68510). A rosary was held on Saturday, August 29th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 10:20 AM at the St. Joseph Catholic Church (1940 S 77th St, Lincoln, NE 68506). A funeral Mass was held on Saturday, August 29th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Saturday, August 29th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church Cemetery.
