David H. Novacek Obituary

We announce the death of David H. Novacek of Lincoln, Nebraska, who passed away on September 9, 2026, at the age of 86. David will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Novacek and Gladys Hoffbauer Novacek. He is survived by: his siblings, Michael Novacek (Leslie) and Mary Kaye Novacek Hurt (Jim); his son-in-law John Grosserode; his grandson Matthew Grosserode; his nieces, Kimberly Novacek Jiron (Harold) and Lisa Novacek Sullivan (John); his nephew Nichelson Novacek; his wife Margaret; his daughters, Dawn Novacek Bluman (Gary), Debbie Hegler and Joann Grosserode; his grandchildren, Patrick Grosserode (Amber), Daniel Grosserode (Addie), Tara Grosserode Pieper (Isaac) and Mitchell Grosserode; his great grandchildren, Reece Grosserode, Cooper Grosserode, Stacia Grosserode, Jace Grosserode, Jacob Grosserode, Evelyn Grosserode, James Grosserode and Abram Pieper; his brothers, Gordon Novacek (Alberta), Thomas Novacek and Daniel Novacek (Linda); his nephews, Jon Novacek, Chad Novacek, Cory Novacek, Dustin Hurt and Dylan Novacek; his niece Penny Novacek Bober (Mark); and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Raechal Sullivan Clark (Richard), John Sullivan, Jordan Bober, Chase Jiron (Ashley), Reid Jiron, Mikenna Jiron TenEyck (Kevin), Jack Novacek, Nolan Novacek and Alaina Novacek.

A rosary was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the St. Joseph Catholic Church (1940 S 77th St, Lincoln, NE 68506). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
