She was predeceased by: her parents, Gordon Hughes and Lillie "Nadene" Hughes; her in-laws, Al and Thelma Zieg; and her brother-in-law Gary Heinicke.
She is survived by: her husband Jim; her children, Lindsay Knoop (Matt) of Urbandale, IA, Dan Zieg (Val) of Bennet, NE, Steve Zieg of Lincoln and Adrian Zieg (Tami) of Lincoln; her grandchildren, Berklee, Lillie, Maverick, Monroe, Wyatt Knoop of Urbandale, IA, Elijah, Logan Zieg of Bennet, NE and Owen Zieg of Lincoln; her siblings, Dennis Hughes (Jean), Kathy Jisa (Ken), Cheryl Powers (Vern) and Lori Meisgeier (Nathan); and her siblings-in-law, Tom Zieg (Judy) and Nancy Heinicke. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the New Covenant Community Church (6000 S 84th St, Lincoln, NE 68516). A celebration of life was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Memorial donations may be made to the Food Bank of Lincoln or Mission Central in Mapleton, IA.
