He was predeceased by: his parents, Eldon Shield and RoseMarie Shield (Farwell); his parents-in-law, Dayle and Phyllis Eckwall; his son Anthony Terrence; and his siblings-in-law, Jody Malm and Bill Malm.
He is survived by: his wife Judy Eckwall (Denece); his son Chip Tyler (Steph Nelson); his brother Terry Shield (Robin); his sisters-in-law, Kip Johnson (Neil) and Teddy Lundberg (Kurt); his grandchildren, Preston Rath, Xander Shield and Natalie Shield; and his cousins, Scott and Joe Farwell. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
Memorials to St. Mark's United Methodist Church or to the Shield Family for future designation.
