She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Gordon and Bessie Gordon (Podtburg); her brother Charles Gordon, Jr.; and her niece Laura Perkins. She is survived by: her husband Lyle Bouwens of Lincoln; her sons, Larry Bouwens (Heidi) and Joel Bouwens (Monica); her grandsons, Ethan Bouwens, Jonathan Bouwens and Nathaniel Bouwens (Sydney); and her nephews, Michael Bouwens, Matthew Bouwens and Bruce Gordon.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the Horizons Community Church Hope Project.
